Disaster Response and Reconstruction

What is Disaster response

Disaster response is the second phase of the disaster management cycle. It consists of a number of elements, for example; warning/evacuation, search and rescue, providing immediate assistance, assessing damage, continuing assistance and the immediate restoration or construction of infrastructure (i.e. provisional storm drains or diversion dams). The aim of emergency response is to provide immediate assistance to maintain life, improve health and support the morale of the affected population. Such assistance may range from providing specific but limited aid, such as assisting refugees with transport, temporary shelter, and food, to establishing a semi-permanent settlement in camps and other locations. It also may involve initial repairs to damaged or diversion to infrastructure.

The focus in the response phase is on putting people safe, prevent need disasters and meeting the basic needs of the people until more permanent and sustainable solutions can be found. The main responsibility to address these needs and respond to a disaster lies with the government or governments in whose territory the disaster has occurred.

Suffering from allergies? It could really mean your upholstery needs cleaning.

If you find yourself frequently sneezing when you’re home, you may be tempted to chalk it up to seasonal allergies. But, the reality is that it could actually be your furniture that you’re allergic to. Well, not the furniture itself, but all the allergens that have collected on it over the years. The best thing to be done would be:  upholstery cleaning.

UPHOLSTERY CLEANING

Pet dander can settle into the fabric of upholstered couches and chairs. This can then cause people with allergies to suffer from coughing, sneezing and watery eyes. Even if you don’t have a pet, studies have shown that pet dander can collect on clothing and travel home with you, resulting in levels of pet dander just as high as in homes with pets. Dust mites and mold can also thrive on upholstery, which can irritate skin and cause eczema outbreaks in some people.

One of the best ways to reduce these allergens in your home is to have your upholstered furniture professionally cleaned every six months to a year.

Ibx Services specializes in upholstery cleaning. Our trained professionals will asses your furniture and determine the best cleaning methods based on the fabric, color and any treatments. We will take great care to treat your furniture as gently as possible, and to remove any stains along with the allergens that may be making you sick. We are also trained mold mediation experts, so if mold is the cause of your allergy woes, are technicians will be able to safely remove it from your furniture.

A home with clean, allergen-free upholstery will help you, and everyone else in your home, breathe a little easier. If you would like to make an appointment to have your furniture professionally cleaned, give us a call any time at +1 416 252 5959.
